Grappling is combat sport that merges takedown techniques and submissions from wrestling, Judo, Sambo and Jiu-Jitsu and focuses primarily on ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position from which to force an opponent to submit. Grappling concentrates on dominating by using angles, leverage and superior body positioning to apply a choke, arm lock and/or leg lock to an opponent. It promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against bigger, stronger opponents using leverage and proper technique by taking an opponent to the ground and utilizing ground fighting techniques and submission holds to defeat the other person. Our athletes have the opportunity to compete against other classmates, as well as compete in local, regional and national tournaments.

All of our grappling classes include a short, yet effective warm-up, strength & conditioning, a step-by-step break down of the day’s maneuvers and a rolling session where students can practice both new and familiar techniques and skills.
