One of the most demanding, oldest and purest sports, wrestling is a discipline that employs the strictest of self-discipline and mental toughness. Athletes in our wrestling program will learn all three styles of wrestling – folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-roman. Athletes will learn the fundamentals of wrestling and have an opportunity to compete against other athletes in their classes and at local, regional and national events.  Our wrestling classes are an excellent introduction into discipline, hard work and self-confidence. Wrestling will build strong work ethic, resilience and a sense of responsibility, while developing mental and physical skills required to achieving a competitive advantage over opponents.

Our coaches provide programs that are beneficial for all levels, combining technical skills and strength and conditioning in the classes.  All of our wrestling classes begin with a general warm-up consisting of tumbling and other gross-motor skills, followed by a dynamic warm-up and sport specific warm-up.  Technique drills and exercises follow in order to reinforce proper technique.  Athletes will then learn technique as a group before breaking off into smaller groups or pairs to drill the moves.  The drilling and technique portion of the class is closely supervised by our experienced coaches for safety and correct form.  Some classes will then involve “situation drilling” where athletes practice the moves in match-like scenarios. The class may also involve “live” wrestling where the athletes get to showcase what they’ve learned in a competitive wrestling environment.  Students are divided into pairs based on size, ability and experience. Class ends with strength and conditioning and/or a game designed to be fun, challenging and build team unity and camaraderie.
